A classic! The best part of all is that it's not really a happy or hopeful song at all. Actually, is about spending the time doing nothing and at all, being "on tour" in a way and avoiding responsabilites, like running away. And how that could make anyone happy? I always thought it referred to a life the narrator and someone else wanted to have and people didn't agree with it, so they left and hit the road and while they, they realize that even though they are happy to be together, it's still wrong and it can't last forever.
