Limp Bizkit is an American nu metal band. The group released their debut Dollar Bill, Y'all$ in 1997. Their subsequent releases Significant Other (1999) and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000) saw them become one of the most popular and controversial heavy bands of the era. Limp Bizkit have released six studio albums and sold 40 million records worldwide. The band mixes metal and hip hop and they were highly influential in the development of nu metal. Long-term members Fred Durst (vocals), Wes Borland (guitar), Sam Rivers (bass) and John Otto (drums) remain in the current line-up. DJ Lethal appeared on the band's biggest releases but left the group in 2012.

I believe this is about somone who wants someone who always leaves them for no apparent reason. That someone always tries to make the one they love theirs, but never succeeds and gets hurt. "Even though it's gonna fall apart, break my heart; I'll keep building till I die" I think means that the person will never stop loving them because they are all they want.
Could that mean that now matter how hard I try to let you go, you keep renting a place permanantly in my mind and the time has come to stop cursing you for that, just hold on there and Ive build up a new way to let you go. Alcohol? Some other sex fiend? Yes, perhaps.
Just how many singles did this record produce? Oh my, Limp bizkit high-point, back in the day, one that will never be reached again... KoRn was always mentioned as an influence of Limp Bizkit, although this might not be apparant musicwise, lyrics that these here just prove that, although not in a so profound miselably environment for the song, as Limp Bizkit always find their way to groove the place...
