Moondust Lyrics

I'm building this house, on the moon
Like a lost, astronaut
Lookin' at you, like a star
From a place, the world forgot
And there's nothing, that I can do
Except bury my love for you

The brightness of the sun, will give me just enough
To bury my love, in the Moondust
I long to hear your voice, but still I make the choice
To bury my love, in the moondust

Nothing can breath, in the space
Colder than, the darkest sea
I have dreams about the days, driving through your sunset breeze
But the first thing, that I will do
Is bury my love for you

The brightness of the sun, will give me just enough
To bury my love, in the Moondust
I long to hear your voice, but still I make the choice
To bury my love, in the moondust

I'm a cast away, and men reap what they sow
And I say what I know, to be true
Yeah I'm living far away, on the face of the moon
I've buried my love to give the world to you

The brightness of the sun, will give me just enough
To bury my love, in the Moondust
I long to hear your voice, but still I make the choice
To bury my love, in the moondust

What is the Meaning of Moondust?

Im sensing the woman was thriving without him And she is very happy So the narrator accepts that And likes to see her living it up Even tho he really wants to listen to her beautiful voice he is now ok with just keeping the love away from her He is in a place so lonly and cold And he dreams about this amazing woman Yet he stays strong and keeps all his feelings inside I think that for some reason The woman wudnt be happy with the guy So hes saying he will stay isolated so that she can thrive He loves her so much And just loves seeing her happy And wishes he can fuck her But she wont put out.

He is setteled to live in a complete isolation fromt he real world And hes just gonna deal with the fact that he is inlove with a woman, but the woman doesnt love him back So he just has to keep the love he has for her far away

In this section of the song, it seems clear that the narrator is using the memory of their loved one to bury their love, hence "The brightness of the sun, will give me just enough to bury my love, in the Moondust". They use their past memories of their loved one to reconcile in their own thoughts so that the narrator can finally find peace in his loneliness. As previously mentioned, the narrator's affection for their loved one exceeds all else, precisely the reason why the narrator is willing to "bury their love" to see that their love is happy and well. I believe this song to be a message to all that suffer a dilemma in their love life; to 'give the world' to your loved in exchange for your own. Only those that you love the most will you find yourself burying your emotions for; so that you can ensure their wellbeing in spite of your own.

The subject of the song is dead and that's why the song is about space. The narrator cannot get to the memory of their lost love and instead must watch from a far. The world has moved on and have forgotten them but not the narrator. Burying their love in the moondust means exactly that, the narrator must create an ugly scar on the face of the planet to conceal the truth, the song is about their tormoil about moving on. By placing themselves on the moon the narrator is far away from the rest of man kind. They're isolated and they intend to stay that way. Mankind cannot get to them "nothing can breathe in this space" "Building this house on the moon" also nothing can live on the moon this furthers the idea of isolation. It is the narrators chosen prison.

Great insight.
