This song presses the point that parents fighting has a massive effect on children. The scenario plays out with a little girl hiding in a closet because her parents are fighting. She overhears them and wishes that their harsh words didn't cause so much hurt; that they weren't real and therefore wouldn't have any repercussions. Plastic toy guns serve as the perfect analogy, especially from a child's point of view; they're harmless, almost as if it was merely a game.

This song is about a young girl who lives with her mean, drunkard father. Her mother was a good woman who is no longer living. The weather forecast was calling for a tornado and the girl prayed it would come. Her dad was passed out drunk on the couch. She stayed safe in the cellar hoping that the storm would destroy that house filled with bad memories and take her father with it. She wanted him to be blown away so that he could never hurt her again.
