Glaswegian electronic pop trio
The Scottish electronic group Chvrches (pronounced like "churches") came together in 2011 in Glasgow, Scotland. Its members are Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty. In 2013, the group released their Recovery EP and then their debut studio album, The Bones of What You Believe. The album had sold 184,000 copies in the United States by September 2015 and an additional 120,318 in the UK. Chvrches' second album, Every Open Eye, came out in September 2015. The album debuted in the fourth spot on the UK Albums Chart and sold more than 15,000 copies in its first week.
I think this song is a relationship one, as much as group one. What I mean by group is, I think it explores the authority like relationship building up inside hierarchical teams, and the almost sexual driven intensity that sometimes is observed under those circumstances.
Lately all songs I hear that have a mention on time, or on the perception of time even, they provide me with visiting some thoughts on the matter, like this is one which is kicking off with defining that the pace (of something) should increase. Faster, faster huh? What if time is but an illusion my dear?
