The American rock band Counting Crows came together in 1991 in Berkeley, California. Members are Adam Duritz, David Bryson, Charlie Gillingham, Dan Vickrey, David Immerglück, Jim Bogios and Millard Powers. The band reached success with the 1993 album August and Everything After and the hit song “Mr. Jones.” Counting Crows received an Academy Award nomination in 2004 for the song “Accidentally in Love” from the film Shrek 2. Couting Crows has sold over 20 million albums. The band has released seven studio albums, six live albums and two compilation albums. The most recent was Echos of the Outlaw Roadshow in 2013.

Again, Spain is a metaphor. It's about moving on to different things and people all the time. Not being happy with a person for a long time and so, consider every new person a "vacation" a way to be with someone to forget the worries that are already there due to other things. In the song there are alternations all the time between somewhere new and someone new. That says a lot. And Spain is also seen as an idea that could be there when things get boring, not all the time.
