Ellie Goulding Song Meanings and Interpretations

She's kinda caught in the middle, is she in for the sex or for the romance? Let alone that she's using a contemporary catchy phrase about liking his tattoos however, isn't that what's happening in real life also? Don't a girl like someone for his inks and then one thing leads to another and after a period she's his formal girlfriend?

Every time I listen to this song, I cried every time. I lost in the dream of the song. Every girl in her life wants a hero who loves her the most and do anything for her. This song really touched me from inside. Never knew that it could mean so much, so love me like you do, forever.
I once watched a short anime series about a boy who got to be a playboy with girls from being a total late-bloomer with no tomorrow, the ending got you looking at the knife of one of the girls he played with, she got so hurt she just lost it and the killer instict got evoked. So, learn your lesson people.

Lovely song. To tell the truth, I discovered Gouldin through her love affair with Skrillex and "You my everything" through a UK series called "Skins". The title pretty much sums up the meaning of the song, and despite you might except something cheesy, it's danceable as hell!!!
Is it how small we may feel before our actions and their consequences at time that is expressed through these "who are we...?" questions? How we act so loud and give the facts such a greater than they deserve importance that they end up being "be and end all", downfalls, instead of happy memories and good experiences.
True indeed that the moment of acknowledgement is comparable to the moment something explodes. You've been waiting so long for something like that and when it comes out of the blue like that it's so sudden, strong and overwhelming. Especially when you're waiting for the one who broke your heart to face the facts, to feel the way you felt in other words and you've been down on your knees for so long.

Sometimes in a relationship we feel like making circles around the same behaviors, problems that they cause, our reaction to these and then back again to point zero - these very same behaviors. This is what figure 8 stands for in my opinion, her falling in and out of love repeatedly because of her partner being full of words every time he's hurting her.
