Biography
Singer, actor and director Frank Sinatra was one of the most popular singers of the 20th century. He was born on December 12, 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey and died on May 14, 1998 in Los Angeles following a heart attack. Sinatra joined up with Columbia Records in 1943 and released his first album three years later. In the 1950s he began performing regularly in Las Vegas and became a key figure of the Rat Pack. Sinatra won 11 Grammy Awards including a lifetime achievement award in 1965. He also won acclaim as an actor on the stage and movie screen, winning an Academy Award in 1953 for his supporting role in From Here to Eternity.
