Biography
Funkmaster Flex is a hip hop DJ, musician, producer and rapper born as Aston George Taylor Jr. on August 5, 1967 in The Bronx, New York City. He gained fame through radio, and in 1992 he became the host of New York’s first hip hop radio show on pop station Hot 97. The show continues now, still with Flex, and is syndicated nationally.  Along with several other respected New York DJs, Flex formed the group The Flip Squad in 1995. The group released a self-titled debut LP in 1998. The following year, Flex released the album The Tunnel, which included songs by LL Cool J, DMX, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and other artists.
