The rock group Jefferson Airplane came together in 1965 in San Francisco and went on to become a defining band of the period’s counterculture and psychedelic rock sound. Headliners at Woodstock as well as the Monterey and Altamont music festivals from 1967 to 1969, Jefferson Airplane’s Surrealistic Pillow (1967) included two songs (“Somebody to Love” and “White Rabbit”) considered by Rolling Stone to be among the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The group broke up in 1972 with some members forming Hot Tuna and others forming Jefferson Starship. Jefferson Airplane was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
Thoughts on Songs with Jefferson Airplane

Thank God for classics like that.... It makes me sad just thinking that today's tenenage majority will discover golden classics like this one, through some movie, on a soundtrack while wathing some car drifting in some desert, or something like that.... It's really deep, it's about the need to love somebody and not just the need to feel being loved. God bless.
