Who is Kodak Black?

Kodak Black was born Dieuson Octave on June 11, 1997, in Pompano Beach, Florida. In high school, Kodak Black began to rap and gained recognition for his song "No Flockin." This led to a record deal with Atlantic Records in 2014. His debut album, Painting Pictures, was released in 2017 and peaked at #3 on the US Billboard 200. The album included the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 single "Tunnel Vision."

Kodak Black's career has been punctuated by bursts of mainstream success, as well as public squabbles and legal issues. In 2019, Kodak was arrested for illegal weapons possession and sentenced to nearly four years in prison. His term was commuted by then President Donald Trump in 2021. Kodak released his third studio album, Bill Israel in 2020 while incarcerated, and in 2022 he dropped his fourth studio album, Back for Everything.
