Thrash metal band Megadeth came together in Los Angeles in 1983. David Ellefson and Dave Mustaine formed the group soon after Mustaine was dropped by the metal group Metallica. Megadeth’s debut album, Killing is My Business… and Business is Good! (1985), had moderate success and grabbed the attention of Capitol Records. Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying? (1986) was the group’s first major label release. The band has gone through repeated lineup changes. As of 2014, Megadeth had released 15 studio albums and earned 11 Grammy nods. The band has sold more than 50 million albums.
Thoughts on Songs with Megadeth
Here the King, is a figure which symbolizes authority and control, while I think it has a personal approach rather than a social one; I do not see the king as the policeman who is pulling you over, it is an overpowering parent/friend/lover and the time has come, to be overthrown.
A brilliant moment, in an overall mediocre -at best- album, this is about a social exile, he lets us now what his perspective of right and wrong and judgement is, his point of view on getting what you want in terms of playing with the possibilities of consequences hitting back. And he's living his transgression race.
