Thoughts on Songs with Metallica
A clear reference to Hemighway's novel, which goes by the same name; it's a novel about warfare and all kinds of shame and humiliation all men participate in it experience. given that "Ride the Lightning" it's an album people get into in a relatively young age, it can become the first incentive το Hemingway, before Hemingway himself.
Cannibal Corpse did a cover of this song, metal has always been military-friendy, not exactly in terms of intentions and political motivations, true metalheads just tend to glorify thr frame of war; the triumph, the sorrow, the brotherhood, but most of all the destruction and strength and surival instict in their purest forms.
