Biography
N.W.A was an American hip hop group. The group formed in 1986 in Compton, California and was hugely influential the development of gangsta rap. The group released their debut album Straight Outta Compton in 1988. The pioneering release sold three million records. The line-up for their debut was Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, DJ Yella and Arabian Prince. Their second album Niggaz4Life (1991) reached number one in the US, and was their final LP. The album was the first hardcore rap LP to debut at the first place on the Billboard 200 chart. The group's split was a result of tensions between Eazy-E, his management and the other members, particularly Dr. Dre and Ice Cube.
