Robert Tepper got his start in the music industry in New York City as a staff writer, but it wasn’t until he teamed up with singer Benny Mardones as a bass player that he saw true fame with the initial hit “Into the Night”, which was released in 1980. Five years later, Tepper moved to Los Angeles and signed a record deal with Scott Brothers, where his next single, “There’s No Easy Way Out” earned recognition and become a hit after Sylvester Stallone added it to third Rocky film. His final success was the single “Don’t Walk Away”, which clawed its way into the Hot 100.
