Who is Stars?

Formed in 2001, the Canadian band Stars is recognized for its sophisticated take on soul and pop. With founding members vocalist Torquil Campbell, keyboardist Chris Seligman, the group has also featured performances by Stephen Ramsay, Evan Cranley, Catherine McCandless and Amy Millan. This Toronto band quickly earned a fan base in the Montreal indie music scene of the early 2000s. Their initial recordings made them a UK hit by 2003, they were able to create their own label in 2010. They have been compared to a diversity of artists that range from Marvin Gay to the The Smiths, and continue to enjoy success with each new album.
