Who is XXXTENTACION?
Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, known professionally as XXXTentacion and commonly referred to as simply X, was an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Born in Plantation, Florida on January 23rd 1998, XXXTentacion spent most of his childhood in Lauderhill. After being released from a youth facility, he began creating music and started his music career on SoundCloud in 2013.
XXXtentacion's song "Look at Me" made him famous outside the hip-hop world and became certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). XXXTentacion's debut album, 17, debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart in September 2017. It included the single "Jocelyn Flores," which was certified double platinum in the US. His second album, ?, was released in March 2018 and debuted atop the Billboard 200. It included the single "Sad!", which reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
On June 18th 2018, XXXTentacion was fatally shot in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The album Skins, which was completed before his death, was released posthumously in December 2018 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
