Sia is getting a lot of backlash for her new music video “Elastic Heart.” The music video features a buff, scruffy, covered in mud Shia LaBeouf dance fighting in a cage with “Dance Moms” star Maddie Ziegler. The Internet was outraged because 28-year-old Shia was wearing nude underwear and 12-year-old Maddie was wearing (the same) a nude leotard she wore in the Chandelier music video. It was the lack of clothing and the cage fighting that led people on the Internet to accuse Sia of promoting pedophilia in the video. Sia took to Social media to apologize to those who felt “triggered” by the video and said:
While Maddie and Shia have yet to comment on the “controversial” video Sia’s fan has been supporting her from the beginning. One Youtuber commented on the video saying, For me, this shows a father-daughter relationship for sure. I think the little girl is struggling with some mental problem, most likely depression, and then the father is forever trying to talk to her and connect with her but she keeps pushing him away, occasionally he gets some control back over her but eventually she kills herself (at 2:54 when she leaves the cage) and him carrying her around is the funeral and then at the end he is struggling to completely let her go.
