They have their fun tunes, but they also have their angst and this song has been known for a very long time. It's one of the most famous if not the most famous to people from the band. And Adele adds her voice and a more bossa nova kind of rhythm, that makes it sweet in a way. It talks about heartbreak (shocker coming from Adele) but not a heartbreak at letting someone go. The particularity in this song and especially these lines, is that it seems that the writer is far away somewhere doing something with his or her life and at the same time, missing another person. There are times when we leave not only things in a place, but people and when doing so, people feel abandoned and thought as maybe not so important in your life. But they can never know that maybe you love them more than they will ever know and that love will not fade because of physical or emotional distance.
