Turn on the night light, we can talk a little more
I'll stay till you're sleeping then I'll slip out the door
And in the night if you cry I will sing a lullaby

Learning old nursery rhymes, singing little songs
We're cutting out paper dolls, learning right from wrong
Walking hand in hand we're always making plans
But it's late, tomorrow's another day

She's almost two, with eye's so blue
I see her mother in her smile
And when she's tucked in bed we'll say our prayers
And I'll sing a baby's lullaby to you

She's got a blanket she drags around the house
Wearing that baseball cap that she'll never throw out
We're taking photographs when she's grown we can look back
And share the moments that slipped away
