The stars are really out tonight
Must be in honor of my maiden flight
It’s a long way down
But they keep me occupied
With the knobs and switches
That make this baby fly

I was chosen from a thousand
Trained for years to fly
Above a million houses
But now, up here
It’s not what I expected
I wish that I had never been selected

NASA can you reach me?
I think this thing is leaking
I’m only flesh and bone
And I’m running out of air

This tiny capsule’s falling
and I can’t seem to stop it

When I was just a baby boy
Climbing branches was my purest joy
No cares – three squares
Life was so simple then
No cords no clips no cables
Hanging from my head then

I’m no rocket surgeon, am I?
I’m just an ordinary, unassuming man
I don’t have one clue
how to reprogram anything
But me and my banana
We know how to swing
