I feel that in the beginning he felt as if he had a sense of freedom that he could leave his hometown. But that life (the universe) had different plans and trapped him in whirlwind of distruction (as like mother nature does to alot of hometowns) and he watches as his life turns to only that of exsisting n is faiding away.. in my opinion
Hometown
Lyrics
Nothin' to stop me now
I can escape my hometown
Chained to the same playground
My whole life
Watchin the sun turn brown
Under a twister's touchdown
Wreckages all around
Fly ghostlike
Impossible
I'm lost in a maze and it won't end
So I watch the Red Rays
Boil and bend
I'm lost in a very bad dream
The particles of light
Burn my bloodstream
Tryin' to stay awake
Surfin' a starlit earthquake
Fuelin' the fire escape of goodbyes
Hopin' to free myself
Hopin' to die in good health
Pain I've always felt neutralized
Impossible
I'm lost in a maze, and it won't end
So I watch the red rays boil and bend
I'm lost in a very bad dream
The particles of light glow my blood green
I see it all the time
See lightnin' fade
I see it all the time
I've seen life degrade
I see it all the time
See lightnin' fade
I see it all
I see why things change
I'm lost in a maze and it won't end
So I watch the dead blaze of night descend
I'm lost in a very bad dream
The particles ignite
Burn my drugged scream
I see it all the time
See lightnin' fade
I see it all the time
I see why things change
