Change The Tide Lyrics

Here's a thought
Just keep moving
A thought to myself
Tribulations, trials that set me free
Pure freedom, in knowing that joy comes after pain

And I cannot change the tide
I can only learn to swim
I'm changing direction tonight
I'm letting it all go tonight

You just gotta listen
This heart that was once bleeding
A cruce salus
Cup in hand, watching the world go by
The essence of grief running down twin springs of sorrow

And I cannot change the tide
Aequam memento rebus in arduis servare mentem
I can only learn to swim
Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam
I'm changing direction tonight
Aequam memento rebus in arduis servare mentem
I'm letting it all go tonight
Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam

Change The Tide Meanings

The latin lines mean - "Remember to keep a clear head during trials" & "It's better to be suffer an injustice than to do an injustice" Rita often Latin in her songs, it's not clear though whether she speaks Latin or not. But she is bilingual, she speaks French and Dutch.

Change the tide was part of her second album "Anna" it was not a stand alone single as peeps believe, it was a single off the second album.

Overall brilliant artist, have been following her since 2009

Same here

It's hard to interpret the meaning beyond the ordinary because of the private person that she is but it surely sounds like a sad sad sound / song

I assume this song is about the parental abuse she endured at the hands of her parents and elder brother for years?
