Basically, what I got out of it (and I'm only a teen so don't make fun of me if I'm wrong) is there's this guy that has a person in his life that's trying to hide themselves away from everything/everyone. This guy is trying to let them know that he's there, and doesn't want them to hide away from him, and run off. He wants to be their cushion. He sees the real them, even when the person is lost in their lives and all that. He doesn't want to lose this person.
