Realization of love. Just wrong timing. Funny how she's trying to recapture his love. She doesn't want to play passive like she was all along until now. They've been playing around with each other, and both of them don't feel much towards the other. Like it's always a makeshift love in times of need. But now that she understands her real feelings she's been waiting for him to come back and tell "I love you" with all his heart. His love is precious to her right now and she feels they're meant for each other. Hope is all she has since the reality sucks.

Love is never free. The song tells us love always cost us in some sort of ways. If you love someone, you already lose something. It's not a physical thing like money or gifts to buy his or her love. What you "spend" is the time thinking about your love, the feelings burning inside you, the actions you do so that the person understands your love etc. Love costs us more than we think. When we love we're ready to make a mess out of the whole world and leave piles of debris! In the end a person might not end up happily ever after with his or her love, but it's something that must be done. It's definitely worth it to "lose" something! If you don't you will never understand love!

When I heard Lana's voice I was seeing this whole film noir scene in front of eyes. The loneliness of the third person makes me shiver... This woman loves her man so much that she's willing to dress herself up and be all pretty and things. By the way, the man is a total jerk. He probably has wife & kids somewhere also waiting for him, but he chose another woman to satisfy his selfish sexual desire. In this case, both woman feel sad and no one wins.

Used to be a Casanova? No no... he was just tired of searching for his true love. And now that he has found it, he's not willing to let it go. It's like if he's not with her then he doesn't know what to do. He's so happy right now that he'd go home early and only remember his love or their kisses. He's not afraid that if he goes out he will meet up with somebody else. No. He only WANTS to think about her, so no PETTY distractions!
