Patrick Stump Overview

A native of Chicago, IL, Patrick Stump was born in 1984 and initially worked as the vocalist for the successful pop band Fall Out Boy. When the brand went on hiatus around 2009, Stump took his chance to do solo work. Described as "a sort of pop-punk Justin Timberlake, with R&B, soul, and electronica serving as his new influences", he played all of the instruments and did all of the mixing. A success, he went on to do further solo recordings in this same, innovative genre. Citing influences like Prince and Michael Jackson, his independent work is described often as a new sound and one with critical success.
