The lyrics cleverly imply certain things without overtly saying them. “I’m addicted to pennies” sounds like “I’m addicted to panties.” Based on the telegraphed rhyme, the incomplete line, “I’ve got my silver tongue ah ahh,” registers on the listener as, “I’ve got my silver tongue on you.” Finally, with all that in mind, some lines leave little doubt: “I say what you want me to say But talk only gets in the way.
