I think this song is about basically a f*ck boy that is realizing that what he is doing is not him its what society is telling him guys are like nowadays and how they are supposed to act in order to meet a certain standard. He's not afraid to sound desperate, and or be himself for this girl who finally made him wake up. He has been subconsciously afraid of what society would think of him if he were to go against the grain, and love only one girl truly.
