To me, its about drug use and experience in an attempt to get away from something bothering them. As an addict in recovery I could relate very well with these lyrics describing that kind of situation. It might seem like the "glaring obvious" meaning but sometimes there's nothing deeper than what is said on the surface and when we try to put a deeper meaning into something that possibly doesn't have one we wind up missing the message it carries in the wind.
