Dog Days Are Over cover Dog Days Are Over by Florence + the Machine

The person described in the song is suddenly overcome with joy as they release their ambitions. 'She hid around corners and she hid under beds. She killed it with kisses and from it she fled With every bubble she sank with a drink.' Now the person is free to play hide and seek, kiss playfully and relax. Part of the chorus shows that she has left 'longing' and wants behind her. 'Leave all your love and your longing behind you. Can't carry it with you if you want to survive.' The message is further explained when the singer says 'And I never wanted anything from you. Except everything you had.' The singer wanted everything but that desire trapped her and made her feel unhappy - now she is free.

Taking Over Me cover Taking Over Me by Evanescence

When I listen to this song I feel that it describes how knowing someone very well gradually encroaches into your own life. It's almost as though the singer feels like they have known the listener for a long time, so long, that the listener does not recognise the singer any more. 'you don't remember me' The singer tries to forget how good the listener was before, but it comes back in their dreams. 'dream I do'. This is also supported in the second verse. The listener has become the singer's whole life 'I'll give up everything.' and ' So many things inside that are just like you are taking over'
