This boy is in love with this girl that cannot compare to any other. he loves her. He's messed with this girl too many times, he has lied and just messed with her head. He slept around after they broke up because he was lonely but so did she. He doesn't want to fall in love with any other girl because he is so attached and in love with this girl. He regrets hurting her and losing her.He only sees his future with this girl. He believes time will heal and they will be together again. He says "Darling you are the only one, Behind my truth lies everything you are', This resembles he knows they belong together and he needs her he wants her. A bit like my own situation. He will stop trying to fall in love because it never works out anyway. Like myself ever since my first boyfriend love hasn't felt the same so why bother.

I think the sins of the father, the pain of the mother, suffering of the poor, hunger, and pain are all references to painful things that he wants washed away or extinguished which is why he wants The Lord to make it rain. And "I know there can come fire from the sky, to refine the purest of kings" is a reference to the end of the world referenced in The Bible where fire is supposed to end the world this time and thus, all the pain, suffering, and sin will end, but he hurts so badly now that he just wants it to rain down deep within his soul to drown or flood all the pain away. The reference to lightning and thunder is just another way of him saying that he wants it to rain so hard that it washes it all away. Let me know what you think.
