I feel like this song is about drug addiction and suicide because of a past that haunts an addict. The chorus " So feast your eyes on the big blue sky and waive bye bye from a long black cadillac." Im interpreting as laying on your back in your casket looking at the sky and saying goodbye as you are riding in a hearse.
