Who is Alabama?
Alabama were founded in 1969 under the name of Wildcountry by Randy Owen (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) with his cousin Teddy Gentry (bass guitar, background vocals). A third cousin Jeff Cook (lead guitar, fiddle, keyboards) joined the ranks and off to the Southeast bar circuit they went. Their music is described as American country, with southern rock and bluegrass influences. They went on to record an incredible 27 number 1 hits in America and have multi-platinum albums. They reunited in 2011 and still play today.
