Weight was written about a person that has made living more difficult for the writer. This person at some point became either consciously or unconsciously comfortable with the position of needing to be cared for by the writer in some way regularly. The sour situation only adds to the writer's already apparent anxiety and depression, and the writer is willing to terminate the relationship.
