At Last Lyrics Meanings
by Etta James

At Last Lyrics

At last
My love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song

Oh yeah, yeah

At last
The skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clover
The night I looked at you

I found a dream
That I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill
To press my cheek to
A thrill that I've never known

Oh yeah, yeah

You smiled, you smiled
Oh and then the spell was cast
And here we are in Heaven
For you are mine

At last

At Last Meanings

A real classic. It has a catchy tune and pretty short lyrics but that are poignant nonetheless. The whole rhythm and the words seem to be remembering, and it is carried with a nostalgic tune. It seems like she is reuniting with her love after years. and when she says "and here we are in heaven" it all makes sense.
