Thoughts & Meanings

Pursuit Of Happiness (Nightmare) cover Pursuit Of Happiness (Nightmare) by Kid Cudi ft. MGMT, Ratatat

Some may say this is ironic but, it's really not. The key word here is "Pursuit". On Monday Kid Cudi checked himself into rehab for depression and suicidal urges. Although the song is about happiness you can feel the struggle. Even in the tone of how he sings it sounds a little sad. I guess he has always been searching for happiness and thought he would get it once he became successful but, "Everything that's shine ain't always gonna be gold (hey)"

Here Mr. Probz paints a vivid picture which depicts a situation where he is "neck deep" and things seem hopeless. With nothing to stand on its only a matter of time before he goes under.

Sugar cover Sugar by Maroon 5

This is the same flow from the Michael Jackson song - Beat It. "Showin' how funky strong is your fight, It doesn't matter who's wrong or right"

Oceans cover Oceans by JAY-Z ft. Frank Ocean

When haters see you with nice things they get envious. Jay-z says he hopes they don't see his material things and get sick from envy (seasick/seesick). Get it? LOL!
